July 6, 2005 11:43 AM

A bus load of anti-poverty campaigners set off from St Margaret's Church, Twickenham to Edinburgh last Friday to join peaceful demonstrations, as part of the Make Poverty History campaign, and Vincent Cable MP was there to give best wishes and support.

"There's been a really tremendous response locally to this important campaign and I was delighted to see the Twickenham contingent contained a wide range of ages and backgrounds and an enormous amount of enthusiasm. I hope the leaders don't let them down."
