World's Biggest Coffee Morning for Cancer Charity

October 3, 2006 12:01 PM

Several groups of local residents gathered to support Macmillen, the cancer care charity, in a series of simultaneous coffee mornings across the country.

Vincent Cable MP joined residents at St Theodore's RC Church in Hampton and said: "For those of us who have had to make use of palliative care for our loved ones, Macmillen nurses are a fantastic support. Most people with advanced cancer want, I think, to be with their families rather than in the more impersonal environment of a hospital. But this is only possible if there is good, reliable personal care, which Macmillen nurses provide."
