Last Ditch Bid on Teddington and Hampton Bus Services

January 9, 2008 12:12 PM

On Friday MP Vincent Cable and local councillors will meet Transport for London Executives over two controversial decisions by TfL which are very unpopular with local residents:

• First, an all-night service has been introduced on the 111 route through Hampton (from Kingston to Heathrow). Vincent Cable has received complaints from residents in Hampton because of the disruption caused by this service and the fact that it does not seem to be widely used.

• Replacing the 465, half-hourly, bus through Teddington is a new, hourly service, 481, on a different route (Kingston via Sandy Lane, Teddington to the West Middlesex).

Vincent Cable said: "there are strong feelings on these bus routes and on both issues residents' groups and I have been in touch with the Mayor to try to modify the proposals. I am particularly concerned that the halving of the service on the 481 route will make it seriously unattractive which will then justify the decision to curtail it".
