Vince Cable

The team who produce the popular satirical Channel 4 show this week met local MP Vincent Cable. Vincent Cable has made occasional appearances on the show as 'Mystic Vince' who correctly anticipated the current downturn in the housing market and the 'credit crunch'.

He said: "although the portrayal of leading public figures on shows like Spitting Image and by impressionists like Rory Bremner can be rather cruel, I think we feel flattered to be included and recognised. I have progressed from being someone with a distinctive name, in competition with Lembit Opik, to being a boffin like character who can see into the future. Basically it is all good fun and helps to make politics less pompous and more accessible to those outside the Westminster village".
