At Last - New Crossing for A316

December 4, 2009 3:11 PM

The London body responsible for roads has now put forward proposals for a new light controlled pedestrian and cycle crossing on the A316 at Meadway to permit the closing of the underground passage which has, in the past, seen attacks on pedestrians and is regarded as insecure.

Vincent Cable said that: "after years of pushing for action Transport for London has at last produced what looks like a sensible proposal that will increase the safety and security of residents. I shall be consulting residents in the area on the detail, but I think we are well on the way to a good outcome"
