Local Schools Paint MPs Christmas Card

10.01.50am GMT Thu 27th Nov 2003

Several local schools contributed dozens of entries to MP Vincent Cable's competition to deign a Christmas card. He visited the schools to look at all the entries and awarded prizes for the best designs.

Vincent Cable said that he was "very touched by the enthusiasm in the schools and by the quality of the entries. There were some superbly crafted and imaginative pictures, a lot of humour in the entries and a good mixture of both religious and Santa Claus themes. Choosing the winner wasn't easy and in the end I settled on two: Luke Sandifer from St John the Baptist school and Unaiza Tughral from Hampton Hill juniors."
