Vincent Cable supports Evening Standard's Christmas Charity Auction.

Among the 200 prizes which you can bid for is the opportunity to meet Dr. Cable and Evening Standard City columnist Anthony Hilton for an entertaining lunch at Westminster's Cinnamon Club. Or you could bid for a trip for two to New York to shop with Kate Moss and Sir Philip Green at the opening of Top Shop's US flagship store.

The auction launches on Ebay at midday on Friday 5 December, so log on and bid for your favourite lot. The auction finishes at 12 noon on Monday 15 December and all proceeds will go to London charity Greenhouse. Greenhouse provides sport and performing arts programmes for young people in state secondary schools, special schools and community clubs in deprived neighbourhoods. Recent headlines about so many tragic incidents involving young people on the streets makes the choice of Greenhouse as a London Christmas charity particularly poignant. Greenhouse believes passionately in enriching the lives of disadvantaged young people - and aims to teach them essential life skills so that they can develop self-respect.
